The winery is located in the municipality of Bad Kreuznach-Bosenheim in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. It was founded in the 1950s by Heinrich and Erna Lorenz as a mixed farm. The grapes were given to a cooperative. In the 1970s, son Werner began marketing bottled wine. The "Bonnheimer Hof" estate tavern is connected. The business is run by Werner (winemaker) and son Ulrich (viticultural technician) Lorenz, who is responsible for cellar technology. The vineyards cover 40 hectares of vines in the single vineyards Brückes, Hinkelstein, Kahlenberg, Paradies, Rosenberg and St. Martin (Bad Kreuznach), Steinrossel (Sommerloch), Berg (Roxheim) and Johannisberg (Wallhausen). They are 70% planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Bacchus, Müller-Thurgau and Siegerrebe, and 30% with the red wine varieties Dornfelder, Portugieser, Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The vineyards are painstakingly cultivated by hand. The wines are vinified according to variety and origin. Due to the many grape varieties, there is a wide range of products. The red wines go through a classic mash fermentation, while the white wines are sometimes left to macerate. Premium wines include Riesling Kreuznacher Brückes and Riesling Roxheimer Berg (maceration), as well as the red wine cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot (16 months in wooden barrels). Around 100,000 bottles of wine are produced annually, 4,000 go to the Netherlands. Grape juices, noble brandies (pomace Merlot, grape Gewürztraminer) are also produced. The winery is a member of the Jungwinzervereinigung Nahe 7 and Generation Riesling.
