The estate is located in the municipality Detzem (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, Viticulture has been practiced in the family for several generations. The management was in 2013 after classical viticulture apprenticeship in the winery Van Volxem and graduation as wine technologist in the teaching and research institute in vineyard taken over by Tobias Lorenz. The vineyards cover eight hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Maximiner Klosterlay and Würzgarten (Detzem), Ritsch (Thörnich) hero (Pölich), as well Altärchen and pharmacy (Trittenheim). They are mainly with Riesling (80%), and Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir planted with mostly old vines. In the vineyard, near-natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is handmade greening and organic fertilization practiced. The wines become clearer with the goal origin structure vinified. They become part spontaneous fermented and in stainless steel as well as the layer wines in the traditional large wooden barrel with long storage on the lees expanded. About 80% of them are vinified dry or semi-dry. Bottle-fermented sects and brandies (pomace, apple, Williams) are also produced. The latter mature for at least two years in small oak barrels. The winery is a member of the associations Generation Riesling, Slow Food u. Mosel disciples.
