Louisette

This white grape variety (also called Beutelriesling) is a new cross between Riesling x Précoce de Malingre. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, Courtiller Musqué(Muscat Précoce de Saumur) is incorrect in the breeding list as the father variety. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see Molecular Genetics). The cross was made by Christian Oberlin (1831-1915) in Colmar (Alsace, France). No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
