one of the four communities outside the appellation Saint-Emilion
(Bordeaux) just north of the river Barbanne. These four may also give their name on the label, in this case Lussac-Saint-Émilion
. The vineyards cover about 1,500 hectares of vineyards. The red wines are dominantly blended from Merlot, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Pressac (Cot) and are similar to those from Saint-Émilion. The most famous wineries are Château Barbe-Blanche, Château Bel-Air, Château de Bellevue, Château de la Grenière, Château de Lussac, Château du Lyonnat and Château Mayne-Blanc.
