Macquer

The French chemist Pierre-Joseph Macquer (1718-1784), among other things, dealt with numerous experiments regarding the addition of sugar to the must for the purpose of alcohol elevation (see below enrich ). His ideas and findings later took the chemist Jean-Antoine Claude Chaptal (1756-1832).
