Madeleine Angevine Oberlin

The white grape variety originates from France. Synonyms are Angevine Oberlin, Anzhevin Oberlin, Bouquet Madeleine, Early Madeleine, Julioso Magdolna, Korai Magdolna, Madeleine Ambrée, Madeleine Blanche, Madeleine Blonde Oberlin, Madeleine Oberlin, Madlen, Madlen Oberlen, Maiulina and Republicain. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is a cross between Madeleine Angevine x Bouquet grape (Bukett grape). However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see Molecular Techniques). It was selected in 1903 in Colmar (Alsace) by the breeder Christian Oberlin (1831-1915) from a seedling; in the breeding list Madeleine Angevine O.P. was given. (open-pollinated) was given. The variety is used as wine grape and as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
