The white grape variety is a open withered Seedling of Madeleine Angevine; the father variety is unknown. A selfing (Self-fertilization) can be excluded because Madeleine Angevine is a pure one female grape is. The variety was probably around 1930 in the State Institute for Vine Breeding in Alzey ( Rheinhessen - Germany ) discovered and selected. The early maturing vine produces rather low-acid white wines with a citrus aroma and subtle nutmeg, It was built towards the end of the 1950s England introduced where it was initially confused with the mother variety Madeleine Angevine. The popular variety here occupied around 50 hectares of vineyards in 2009. There are also other tiny stocks in Denmark and Sweden,
