Previously common name for a outstanding wine of a special the vintage, Today this is a not exactly defined name without wine-legal meaning for a wine of special or the first quality (flagship, flagship, Premium wine, Signature wine), or for the quantitatively most important product of a producer, which is not necessarily the best quality. For the former is the name in France Grand Vin in use, which are somewhat simpler wines than second wine designated.
