Malvasia de Colares

The white grape comes from Portugal, It is one of the many mostly unrelated varieties with name part Malvasia (look there). It is genetically different from all other Malvasia varieties. The yielding vine brings flowery white wines mineral Note and aromas of tropical fruits and herbs. It is exclusively in the field Colares cultivated in the north-west of Lisbon, where it is often referred to as Malvasia. Due to the prevailing sandy soil, it can ungrafted be grown. The acreage in 2010 was 1,031 hectares.
