The white grape variety (also Trigueira) originates from Portugal. It is one of the numerous mostly unrelated varieties with the name part Malvasia (see there). The vine has pink berries. The parentage or possible relations to other varieties are not known. The variety is cultivated in the areas of Beira Interior and Trás-os-Montes. The area under cultivation in 2016 was 12 hectares (Kym Anderson statistics).
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
