One of the Alsace (Haut-Rhin) sites classified as Grand Cru within the Alsace Grand Cru appellation. It was already mentioned in documents in 783 under the name Sigolttesberg. The vineyards cover 62 hectares of vineyards at an altitude of 210 to 350 metres above sea level on limestone marl soil in the municipality of Sigolsheim, north of Colmar. They are considered the sunniest in Alsace. Mainly the Gewürztraminer is cultivated here, but also the varieties Pinot Gris, Muscat Blanc and Riesling. Well-known producers are Gerard Fritsch, Ringenbach-Moser, Pierre Schillé et Fils, Pierre Sparr, Domaine Stirn and André Thomas.
