Manischewitz

The Manischewitz Company was founded in 1888 by Rabbi Dov Behr Manischewitz in Cincinnati, . In 1932, a second factory was built in Jersey City and later the Ohio production site was abandoned. The B. Manischewitz Company eventually became the R.A.B. Food Group LLC, which produced kosher as well as other kosher products such as the unleavened matzo bread eaten as a bread substitute during the traditional Passover. The company developed into the leading manufacturer for a wide range of kosher products in the .

The winery is in Naples (Ontario County) in State. The best known is the sweet wine made from the Labrusca grape in the typical square bottle. The wide product range also includes creams (fortified sherry-like wines), as well as blackberry, elderberry, cherry, loganberry (cross between blackberry and raspberry) and peach wines.
