The winery is located in the municipality of La Morra (province of Cuneo) in the Italian region of Piedmont. The family has been growing grapes for six generations. Today, the winery is run by Manuel, Andrea Marchetti and Elisa Marchetti; Walter Bonetti is the oenologist. The foundation of a 13th-century tower houses the ageing cellar, while the fermentation and bottling facilities are located in the cellars of a 19th-century monastery.

Marcarini - La Morra im Barolobereich und Reifekeller

The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vines; no grapes are bought in. The grape varieties cultivated are Arneis, Barbera, Dolcetto, Moscato (Muscat Blanc) and Nebbiolo. The red wines are vinified with long maceration lasting up to 45 days with constant punching down of the marc. The product range includes the DOCG wines Roero Arneis, Moscato d'Asti and various Barolo named "Del Comune di La Morra", "La Serra", "Brunate" and "Chinato", as well as the DOC wines Dolcetto d'Alba "Boschi di Berri" (from very old, ungrafted vines) and "Fontanazza", Barbera d'Alba "Ciabot Camerano" and Langhe Nebbiolo "Lasarin". The flagship of the house is the Barolo "Brunate" from the vineyard of the same name, which matures for two years in 30 hl wooden barrels made of Slavonian oak. Every year, 125,000 bottles of wine are produced, of which about 85% are exported. The winery is a member of Consorzio di tutela del Barolo e del Barbaresco and Consorzio dell'Albeisa.
