The appellation is located in the northeast of the winegrowing region Southwest France
, The former VDQS area was classified in 1990. The vineyards cover 160 hectares of vineyards. The red wine is blended from the autochthonous variety Fer Servadou (at least 90%), Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In small quantities, a rose is produced. Well-known producers are Domaine du Cros and Domaine Laurens.
