Marengo

The white grape variety is a new cross between Pirovano 50 (Bicane x Sciamblese) x Delizia di Vaprio. Synonyms or breeding numbers are I.P. 205 and Pirovano 205 and The crossing took place in 1925 in Italy at the research centre in Rome by the Italian breeder Alberto Piròvano (1884-1973). The variety is mainly used as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
