single vineyard in the municipality of Pünderich (Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle wine-growing region. It is named after the Augustinian convent on the Petersberg, which was dissolved in 1515 and today serves as a youth education centre for the diocese of Trier. The vineyards, which face east to southwest on the left and west on the right side of the Moselle, are between 100 and 230 metres above sea level and have a slope of 50 to 70%. The shallow to deep, stony clay-slate weathered soils are partly interspersed with clay. The Riesling variety is cultivated here in particular. The two wineries Brohl Frank and Busch Clemens, for example, have shares in the site.
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
