DOC area for white wines in the Italian Lazio region. It was extensively expanded in 2011 with new wine types. The zone is located in the western part of the Castelli Romani area; the famous Via Appia Antica runs through the area. It comprises around 1,700 hectares of vineyards in the complete area of the municipalities of Marino and Ciampino, as well as parts of Castel Gandolfo and Roma in the province of Roma. The Classico area includes the historical part of the municipality of Marino. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, Vigna followed by the name of the vineyard can also be indicated on the bottle label.

Marino must contain at least 50% Malvasia Rossa(Malvasia Bianca di Candia), the remaining 50% may be other authorised non-aromatic varieties. There are also the wine types Superiore (higher alcohol content), Passito (sweet wine), Vendemmia tardiva (late harvest), Frizzante and Spumante. Of all of them there can also be a Classico.

The pure variety wines must contain at least 85% of the jeiligen variety, the remaining 15% can be other approved varieties. There are the wine types Bellone, Bombino(Bombino Bianco), Greco, Malvasia del Lazio and Trebbiano Verde(Verdicchio Bianco). Slightly different for each wine type are the flavours secco, abboccato, amabile and dolce.
