The winery is located in the municipality of Brauneberg (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. The wine-growing tradition of the Conrad family goes back over 14 generations to the year 1558. Martin Conrad, whose grandfather was once one of the founders of the Bernkasteler Ring, has been responsible for the cultivation and development of the wines since 1998. The vineyards cover about 5.5 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Juffer and Juffer Sonnenuhr (Brauneberg), Sonnenlay (Mülheim), and Kirchberg (Veldenz). They are 95% planted with Riesling, the remaining area with Pinot Blanc.

Martin Conrad is very connected to nature and the environment and, from the very beginning, has focused on an ecologically sensible and sustainable balance between viticulture and environmental protection in the cultivation of the vineyards. This philosophy is also implemented in the cellar with the renunciation of the addition of pure culture yeasts, enzymes and fining agents in order to emphasise the natural complexity of the wines. The winery has thus been practising sustainable, environmentally friendly viticulture for years in accordance with the EU Organic Regulation. As a logical consequence, the winery registered for organic certification with the GfRS organic inspection body in August 2019. From the 2022 vintage onwards, all wines will carry the organic certificate on the label.

Yields are reduced to less than 50% of the legally permitted maximum. The grape harvest is done selectively by hand. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with the vineyard's own yeasts in order to bring out the individual terroir character more finely. The wines have been 100% vegan since 1998. The product range is divided into the following lines: Estate Wines (wines typical of the grape variety without any indication of the vineyard), Site Wines (the basis of the terroir-emphasised collection), Site Wines GOLDKAPSEL (particularly expressive site wines with a significantly reduced yield of max. 55 hl/ha) and the Grosse Gew ächse (dry top wines from the best vineyards of the top sites with a yield of max. 40 hl/ha), which are only vinified in very good years.

The winery offers so-called vine sponsorships, which are valid for two vines each. The vines are provided with signs of the vine sponsors and the sponsorship is documented with a certificate. Each year, the sponsors receive two bottles of sponsored wine with their own name on the bottle label. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines with mostly more than 36 months of yeast storage and noble brandies are also produced. The winery is a founding member of the Bernkasteler Ring.
