Massif d'Uchaux

Independent community appellation in the department Vaucluse in the southern French appellation Cotes du Rhone-Villages (see the AOC regulations there). The name has also been allowed to appear on red wines since 2005 label be cited. The vineyards are located at 100 to 280 meters above sea level and cover 152 hectares of vineyards in the five municipalities of Lagarde-Paréol, Mondragon, Piolenc, Sérignan du Comtat and Uchaux. The Romans had already grown wine on the hills of the Uchaux massif; the area is crossed by the famous Roman road Via Agrippa.
