The winery is located near Valbuena de Duero (Valladolid) in the DO area Ribera del Duero
in the Spanish region Castile and Leon
, It was founded in 1988 by Carlos Moro González. A restaurant is connected. The bodega was half built into a mountain. The vineyards cover 120 hectares of vines with mainly Tinta del País (Tempranillo). Grapes are also bought in. The product range includes a Gran Reserva, the layered wines Pago de la Solanas Gran Reserva and Prestigio Pago de la Solanas, as well as the Reserva "Rento" and the Semicrianza "Melior". In addition to the main bodega, a number of other wineries are grouped together under the company name "Grupo Matarromera". These are three other bodegas called Ribera del Duero Emina

(4 ha). A vino de la Tierra Castilla y León (country wine) is produced in the latter. The property includes Valdelosfrailes
