Mauzac Noir

The red grape variety originates from France. Synonyms are Feuille Ronde, Mauzac Noir du Lot et Garonne and Mauzac Rouge. It must not be confused with the morphologically similar variety Négret Castrais. The parentage (parentage) is unknown. There is no relationship to the white variety Mauzac Blanc, but there is a genetic relationship to the variety Fer. The medium-maturing, low-yielding vine produces light red, fruity red wines. It is cultivated in the Fronton and Gaillac areas in south-western France. However, no stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
