The winery in the municipality of Mülheim in the German wine-growing region Moselle goes back to a trading company founded in 1680 and has since been owned by the family. A document from the year 1643 proves a vineyard purchase in the Brauneberg, The Baroque manor house with French garden was built in 1774. The cellar, separated from the manor, was built in 1880. In 1813, the ancestor Franz Ludwig Niessen (father-in-law Ferdinand Richter) rescued the community Mülheim and the county Veldenz before the fire Napoleon (1769-1821) and his troops.
