Mayschoß-Altenahr wine cooperative

The "Mayschoß-Altenahr eG wine cooperative" was founded in 1868 under the name "Mayschoß winegrower association on the Ahr". In 1982 there was a merger with the Altenahr wine cooperative and in 2009 with the Walporzheim wine cooperative founded in 1871. Rainer Hess is the chairman of the supervisory board, Matthias Baltes as managing director, Rudolf Stodden as sales manager and Rolf Münster as cellar master. Visits to the historic wine barrel cellar with attached wine museum are possible. In addition, a variety of events are organized, such as culinary wine tastings with top chefs around the wine.

Today, 420 members cultivate 150 hectares of vineyards in the German wine-growing region Ahr farmed; among other things in the individual layers Eck (Altenahr), Sonnenberg (Neuenahr), Kräuterberg (Walporzheim) and Burgberg, Laacherberg, Mönchberg (Mayschoß). The cooperative is a member of the Generation Riesling winegrowers' association.
