Single location in the community Johannisberg in the German growing region Rheingau, Hell located west of the famous Johannisberger Schlossberg was already praised in 1180 as "helda in monte sancti Johannis". The name is derived from "Helda" for stockpile or steep slope. Up until the 1930s there were still locations called Auf der Höll, Fischerhöll, Höllenkopf and Untere Höll, of which only the Mittelhölle and the subsequent larger ones are much larger hell left free. The south-southwest oriented vineyard with 10 to 30% slope encompasses 6.5 hectares of vineyards on stony-gravel loess clay with quartzite in the subsoil. Only the Riesling is cultivated here. The location is the sole property of the winery GH by Mumm,
