The winery is one of the most famous and oldest South Africa and is located in the wine-growing district Stellenbosch, It was founded in 1693 by the German Henning Huising, after being governor Simon van der Stel (1639-1712) country was assigned. The flagship is the one in French barriques matured red wine "Rubicon" in the Bordeaux style (65% CS, 25% Merlot, 15% CF). However, this must not with the "Rubicon" of the California winery Inglenook Winery (formerly Rubicon Estate Winery).
