Mees Roland

The estate is located in the municipality of Bad Kreuznach in the district Bosenheim in the German wine-growing region Near, Founded in 1828, the company has been managed since 2003 by Roland Mees (winemaker) and Dagmar Mees (consultant for German wine) in the seventh generation of the family. Son Lukas successfully completed his training as a winemaker in 2013. The vineyards cover 14 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers of paradise and Rosenberg (Bad Kreuznach). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Silvaner, Muller-Thurgau, Muscat Ottonel, Sauvignon Blanc, Huxelrebe, Bacchus, Chancellor Vine and Scheurebe, as well as the red varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Blue Portugal and dark fields.

The white wines ferment slowly and controlled in stainless steel. The red wines ripen after traditional maceration in a big wooden barrel.
