Meiser Frank

The estate is located in the commune of Gau-Köngernheim (Gau-Odernheim, Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region Rheinhessen, The family settled here in 1696. The business is managed by Frank Meiser. A tavern and a guest house are connected. The vineyards cover 30 hectares of vines in the individual layers Römerberg and Rotenfels (Alzey), Hasensprung (Bechtheim), Vogelsang (Gau-Köngernheim), as well as Kapellenberg and Kirchenstück (Weinheim). They are 70% planted with the white varieties Riesling, White Burgundy, Gray Burgundy, Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Bacchus, Scheurebe and Huxelrebe, and 30% with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Early Burgundy, Portuguese and Dornfelder. The white wines are aged in steel tanks, the red wines traditionally in large wooden barrels or in new barriques. A specialty of the house are noble sweet wines.
