The winery is located in the community of Bad Dürkheim (area Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße) in the German wine-growing region Palatinate. The family has been growing wine for 250 years. Today's business was shaped by Ludwig and Christa Mesel and is now managed by their sons Klaus and Stefan Mesel. The vineyards cover nine hectares of vineyards in the locations Fronhof, Nonnengarten, Rittergarten and Schenkenböhl (Dürkheim). They are planted with the red wine varieties Spätburgunder, Dornfelder, St. Laurent, Portugieser, Cabernet Cubin, Merlot, and Cabernet Mitos, as well as the white wine varieties Riesling, Kerner, Chardonnay, Ruländer, Weißburgunder, Gewürztraminer, and Ehrenfelser. We also produce fine brandies (marc, grape, fruit), liqueurs and bottle-fermented sparkling wines. The winery is a member of "Pfälzer Edelbrand".

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
