Minella Bianca

The white grape comes from the island Sicily ( Italy ). Synonyms are Eppula, Minedda Bianca, Minedda Bianca de Catane, Minedda Bianca and Minella. The name could be derived from the local expression "Minna" (for breast) and refer to the elongated shape of the grapes. The parentage is unknown. It was first described in 1760. The parentage is unknown. The late maturing vine produces acidic white wines with aromas anise, The variety is grown in Sicily in the provinces of Catania and Enna. There she is in the DOC wine Etna authorized. The acreage in 2010 was 65 hectares.
