Minella Bianca

The white grape variety comes from the island Sicily ( Italy ). Synonyms are Eppula, Minedda Bianca, Minedda Bianca de Catane, Minedda Bianca and Minella. The name could derive from the local term "Minna" (for chest) and refer to the elongated shape of the grapes. The parentage is unknown. It was first described in 1760. The parentage is unknown. The late ripening vine yields acidic white wines with aromas anise, The variety is cultivated in Sicily in the provinces of Catania and Enna. There she is in the DOC wine Etna authorized. The acreage in 2010 was 65 hectares.
