Minella Bianca

The white grape variety originates from the island of Sicily(Italy). Synonyms are Eppula, Minedda Bianca, Minedda Bianca de Catane, Minedda Bianca and Minella. The name may derive from the local expression "Minna" (for breast) and refer to the elongated shape of the grapes. The parentage (parentage) is unknown. It was first described in 1760. The parentage (parentage) is unknown. The late-ripening vine yields acidic white wines with aromas of anise. The variety is cultivated in Sicily in the provinces of Catania and Enna. There, it is permitted in the DOC wine Etna.19 hectares of vineyards were designated in 2016 (statistics Kym Anderson).
