Minervois La Livinière

The appellation is located in the west of the French winegrowing region Languedoc, It forms an enclave in the center of the AOC Minervois, The red wine was classified as AOC in 1999. He belongs to the highest quality category "Crus du Languedoc". The south-facing vineyards cover about 230 hectares of vineyards at 220 meters above sea level. They extend over the six municipalities of Azille (in the department Aude ), Azillanet, Cesseras, Félines-Minervois, the eponymous La Livinière and Siran (in the Département Hérault ). The red wine is made from at least 60% of the three main varieties Grenache Noir ( Garnacha Tinta ), Mourvèdre ( Monastrell ) and Syrah, as well as a maximum of 40% Lledoner Pelut ( Garnacha Peluda ), Carignan Noir ( mazuelo ) Cinsault. Piquepoul Noir. Terret Noir and Aspiran Noir blended. He is considered more elegant than the simple Minervois. Well-known producers are Château Cesseras, Château Laville Bertrou, Château de Gourgazaud, Clos Centeilles and Clos d'Ora.
