The winery is located in the municipality of Flemlingen (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. The wine cellar dates back to the 15th century and at that time belonged to the Counts von der Leyen as a tithe cellar (Zehentkeller). The winery has been run by Theo and his wife Martina and daughter Regine Minges for more than six generations. The vineyards comprise 25 hectares of vines in the single vineyards Rosenkranz (Böchingen), Schlossgarten (Burrweiler), Herrenbuckel, Vogelsprung and Zechpeter (Flemlingen), Hölle (Gleisweiler), Letten (Hainfeld), and Silberberg (Walsheim).

In addition to the two main varieties, Riesling and Pinot Noir, the white wine varieties Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Scheurebe, Muskateller and Gewürztraminer, as well as the red wine varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are cultivated. The vineyards have been cultivated in accordance with the certified organic viticulture guidelines since the 2013 vintage. The white wines are fermented slowly and cool after maceration and are stored for a long time on the lees. The red wines are macerated and aged for a long time in large wooden barrels or barriques. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The winery is a member of the VDP and Slow Food.
