Misket Varnenski

The white grape is a new breed between Dimyat x Riesling, Synonyms are Muscat de Varna and Muscat Varnenski. It may not, because of the name similarity, with the variety Misket Vrachansky be confused. The crossing took place in Bulgaria in 1971 by the breeder K. Stoev. The late-ripening vine is resistant to Botrytis and wintery frost, It produces Riesling-like white wines, often with Riesling be blended. The variety is in Bulgaria cultivated mainly in the province of Varna in the east, as well as in the province of Ruse in the north. In 2010, 336 hectares of vineyards were reported (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
