Frequent name for a single vineyard in the German-speaking world, usually derived from a vineyard run or owned by a monastery (monks). See also under Mönchberg.
The south-southwest-facing vineyards with a slope gradient of 20 to 30% comprise 44 hectares of vineyards on shell limestone soils. Members of the WG Weingärtner Markelsheim have shares in the site.
There are further individual sites called Mönchsberg in the Württemberg municipalities of Bad Mergentheim and Elpersheim (Kocher-Jagst-Tauber), as well as Brackenheim and Dürrenzimmern (Württembergische Unterland)
