Mondéjar

DO area in the southwest of the province of Guadalajara in the great Spanish region La Mancha but outside the DO area La Mancha, which is named after the city of the same name east of Madrid. In the Middle Ages, the wines were delivered from here to the Spanish court. It is temperate Mediterranean climate with few precipitation during the summer. In the white grape varieties, Malvar ( Lairén ) with 80% share, others are Viura ( Macabeo ), Torrontés ( alarije ) and Airén, The most important red grape variety is Cencibel ( Tempranillo ), others are Cabernet Sauvignon. Garnacha Tinta. Syrah and Jaén Tinto ( Mencia ).
