Monerac

The red grape variety is a new breed between Grenache Noir ( Garnacha Tinta ) x Aramon Noir, The crossing took place in 1960 France by the ampelographer Paul Truel (* 1924) on behalf of INRA with the participation of the university Montpellier, The late-ripening, vigorous vine is relatively resistant to Botrytis, It produces vivid red wines. The variety is grown in the south of France in the department Aude grown in small quantities. In 2010 three hectares of vineyards were shown (Kym Anderson ).
