Famous city about 40 kilometers south of Siena in the province of the same name in the south of the Italian region of Tuscany. It is picturesquely situated on a 560-meter-high hill and has about 5,100 inhabitants. The vineyards cover a total of 2,800 hectares. The DOCG red wine Brunello di Montalcino, as well as the DOC wines Moscadello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino and Sant'Antimo are produced here.
