DOC range for white wine and red wine in the Italian region Umbria, The area includes the entire eponymous municipality Montefalco, as well as parts of the municipalities Bevagna, Castel Ritaldi, Giano dell'Umbria and Gualdo Cattaneo in the province of Perugia. The Bianco is from Grechetto = Grechetto di Orvieto (to 50%), Trebbiano Toscano (20-35%), as well as other approved varieties (max 30%). The Rosso (also as Riserva ) will be out Sangiovese (60-70%), Sagrantino (10-15%), as well as other approved varieties (max 30%) blended. The varietal Montefalco Sagrantino received in 1993 the DOCG classification.
