Montigny Sascha

The estate is located in the municipality Laubenheim in the German wine-growing region Near, It was founded in the 1960s by Rudolf Montigny. Since 1994 it is run by his son Sacha Montigny. The vineyard area totals six hectares Carthusian (Laubenheim). They are planted with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Portuguese, St. Laurent, Dunkelfelder and Frühburgunder, and the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc and Kerner. The white wines are fermented cool in stainless steel. The red wines are developed after the mash fermentation partly in large wooden barrels and partly in oak barrels. It also produces bottle-fermented sparkling wines (from Riesling), sparkling wines and Hefebrände.
