The wine-growing area is located in the northwest Hungary
about 30 kilometers west of Budapest. The climate is characterized by long, warm summers with constant air movement and mild winters. The vineyards on quartz-rich soils over limestone cover about 900 hectares of vineyards. The area is known for its aromatic and spicy white wines. The most important grape varieties are Ezerjó
, Királyleányka, Leányka, Rajnairizling and Tramini.
