The Austrian wine company with headquarters in Wörgl (Tyrol) was founded in 1926 by Alois and Anna Morandell. Today it is run by the third generation of Commercial Councilor Peter and Mag. Rudolf Morandell and is still 100% family-owned. Christoph and Mario Morandell, the future managing directors, have worked in managerial positions in the company for years. This ensures the continued existence of the family company in the fourth generation. The company has had intensive trade relationships with the most renowned European wineries for almost a century. Wines are also bottled themselves. In 1948 Morandell became one of the first Austrian wine houses to start exporting. In 1955 the import of beer specialties from Czechoslovakia (Budweiser, Pilsner, Urquell) and Germany (Löwenbräu) started and in 1986 Bierimport GmbH was founded. A total of 200 employees work at several locations in Austria.
In 1988 VINORAMA Weinversand GmbH was founded as a 100% subsidiary. In 2011 DI Johannes Fiala took over the sales management. With an extensive range of around 2,000 wines, wine shipping is aimed at the end consumer and looks after private wine lovers and also companies that are not resellers. The focus is on wines from Austria, Italy and Spain, as well as wines from other European countries and overseas. In addition, selected olive oils, grappa and brandies, as well as wine accessories and gift combinations are marketed. Furthermore, various services such as classic events (tastings with the winegrowers in various places in Austria), vinarias (exquisite toque menus in connection with first-class wines in special locations) and summit events (tastings on the mountain) are also offered.
