Morellino del Valdarno

The red grape variety (also Negrodolce) comes from Italy, It may, despite seemingly suggestive synonyms or morphological or name similarities not with the varieties Sangiovese (Morellino) or Morellino del Casentino be confused. According to 2008 done DNA analysis exists between Morellino del Valdarno and Sangiovese one Parent-offspring relationship (more likely parent is Sangiovese). Another analysis from 2012 revealed that Sangiovese from a cross Ciliegiolo with the Apulian variety Negrodolce, the second is identical with Morellino del Valdarno. So the last word of Sangiovese origin does not seem to have been spoken yet. Morellino del Valdarno was formerly in the Tuscany grown, but has no meaning today.
