Winegrowing community in the northeast of the Lower Austrian winegrowing area Weinviertel, Ten kilometers north is the Czech border. The place Herrnbaumgarten became known in recent years, especially by the "Association for the utilization of thought surplus". In addition to many other curiosities, there is a "24-hour snail race". About a dozen winegrowers in the community have joined forces to form the brand association "Vinetum". In 1995, the "Association for the conservation and revival of the Kellergassen ". Among other things, natural stone walls and pretty lanterns were built. In the spring of 2005, the "crazy wine shop" was opened, in which always another winegrower presented his products.
The vineyards of the municipality cover a total of about 600 hectares of vineyards. Count among the best vineyards Altenbergen, Granitz, Johannesbergen (the largest), Hennkratzer, Hödeln, Kreinhölzer and the already mentioned in 1043 Reck am Aigen. The soils are mostly made of loam and loess. The two main varieties are Green Valtellina and Riesling, for the most part as base wines used for the Austrian sparkling wine production.
