The winery is located in the municipality of Florsheim-Dalsheim (Wonnegau area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. The traditional winery has been family-owned since 1625. Today it is run by Axel and Birgit Müller. The vineyards cover 12 hectares in the Bürgel, Sauloch and Steig (Dalsheim) vineyards. Two thirds of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Huxelrebe, Siegerrebe, Kerner, Morio-Muskat, Müller-Thurgau, Scheurebe and Gewürztraminer, and one third with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Blauer Portugieser, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and St. Laurent. Natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is practised with, for example, exclusively organic fertilisation and biological pest control. The quality criteria in the vineyard are appropriate pruning, yield-reducing thinning and late harvesting of ripe and healthy grape material. The wines are vinified with cooled, slow fermentation typical of the variety with preservation of the fruit aromas. Depending on the type of wine, they are matured in steel tanks, large wooden barrels or in barriques. Special wines are also bottled in magnums. Grape juice, wine vinegar, grape seed oil, noble brandies (marc, wine, fruit), sparkling wines and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced.
