The white grape variety (Breeding No. Würzburg B 48-10-2) is a new cross between Siegerrebe x Müller-Thurgau, which was confirmed by DNA analyses published in 2012. The cross was made in 1948 by the breeder Dr. Hans Breider (1908-2000) at the Bavarian State Institute for Viticulture, Fruit Growing and Horticulture in Würzburg (Germany). Incidentally, the same parents also produced the three new varieties Ortega, Tamara and Thekla. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
