Grand Cru location in the municipality of Chambolle-Musigny in the Burgundy region of Côte de Nuits. It is situated above the famous Grand-Cru-Lage Clos de Vougeot in the neighbouring municipality of Vougeot. The vineyard, gently sloping at 10%, comprises almost 11 hectares of vines on very chalky soil. These are shared by a total of 17 owners. The red wine is mainly made from Pinot Noir with small amounts of Pinot Liébault and Pinot Beurot(Pinot Gris). In small quantities, a white wine (the only Grand Cru of the Côte de Nuits) made from Chardonnay is also produced exclusively by the Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé. Other well-known producers in the area are Joseph Drouhin, Dujac, Groffier, Jadot, Domaine Leroy, Mugnier and Roumier.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
