The red variety comes from Greece, Synonyms are Goumenissas Mavro, Mavro Goumenissas, Neghotska, Negkoska, Negoska Popolka, Negotska and Popolka Naoussis. The name may derive from the Macedonian area / city Naoussa from where exactly she should come from.
