The red grape variety comes from France, Synonyms are Borrachon, Negra de Madrid, Tinto de Madrid and Tinto Madrid. Despite apparently suggesting synonyms or morphological Similarities not to the varieties Borrachon (Negral), Négrette (Négralet) or Tempranillo (Tinto Madrid) can be confused.
