The red grape variety (also Folle Noire) comes from France, It may, despite seemingly suggestive synonyms or morphological Similarities do not match the varieties Fuella Nera or Négrette (both synonymous with Folle Noire synonym). According to done in 2013 DNA analysis it comes from a presumably natural cross between Mauzac Blanc x Morrastel ( Graciano ). However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see under molecular Genetics ). The variety was formerly in Southwest France grown. No stocks were reported in 2010 (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
