The estate is located in the municipality Illmitz in Burgenland wine region Lake Neusiedl
(Austria) in the heart of the National Park "Neusiedler See - Seewinkel". It is run since 1990 by Gerhard Nekowitsch in the sideline. The vineyards cover just over four hectares of vineyards. They are planted to 80% with the white varieties Welschriesling, Chardonnay and seedling 88 (Scheurebe), as well as to 20% with the red varieties Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch
. It will be consistent with near-natural viticulture integrated crop protection
practiced. Quality criteria are short pruning
, targeted leaf work, and a reading time as optimal as possible. About 70% of the production is sweet wines in the entire predicate range. A special specialty are reed wines
for which only healthy, fully ripe grapes are dried on reed mats for at least three months. These are among other things as "The Red One" (Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch
) and "tradition" (seedling, Welschrieslimg, Chardonnay). One of the premium wines is the red wine cuvée "Rubino" (Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch
), which is partly aged in barrique. The classic sweet wines are mainly aged in oak barrels. Every year around 25,000 bottles of wine are produced. An export takes place to Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, France and Switzerland.
