Riede (location) in the municipality Gols in the Burgenland wine-growing region Lake Neusiedl (Austria). It is in the Middle Ages by enlargement of the Weinbaugebietes as an extension of the vineyards Altenberg originated, to which also the name refers. The gently southwest-facing Riede covers about 14 hectares of vineyards with sandy-schluffigem and through humus dark colored topsoil with low lime and gravel content. The starting material in the subsoil are sands and gravel with strong calcareous layers. Above all, the varieties Pinot Blanc ( Pinot Noir ) Neuburger. Chardonnay. Zweigelt and St. Laurent grown. A share of the vineyard, for example, has the winery Nittnaus brothers,

It should be noted that the Ried name Neuberg in Austria is quite common; there are other vineyards in the communities, for example German Kreutz (Mittelburgenland) Göttlesbrunn (Carnuntum) and Stetten (Weinviertel).
